Best practice for organizing my media files?

  • hi folks,

i've been playing around with xbmc for a while now and there's just one minor detail i would like to know.

i've stored most of my media files on my server in seperate directories. in this way i can easily organise files that are related to eachother (ie. movies + subtitles).

the avi, mpg and mp3 files all have nice thumbnails when i query imdb. what i would like is that the directory-icon that contains the files also changes after the imdb lookup.

am i overlooking a setting, should i reorganize my files on my server.

    any help is appreciated!

    thanks in advance.

    regards,

    thierry
    ps: running yesterdays cvs build.

  • is it not just a case of putting a folder.jpg file inside the folder?

  • try an imdb lookup when you on the directory icon, then the picture should replace that directory icon. worked for me.

    boellie.

  • thanks but i tried that and resulted in refreshed thumbnails on the movie files and not a replacement of the folder icon. i remember i could change the directory icons in previous versions but not the latest and greatest 1.1 release.
